The California State Bar has set rigorous standards for knowledge and experience in various areas of law before an attorney can become board-certified. Your case is important and deserves a specialist. California attorneys who are certified as specialists have taken and passed a written examination in their specialty field, demonstrated a high level of experience in the specialty field, fulfilled ongoing education requirements, and been favorably evaluated by other attorneys and judges familiar with their work. Fewer than 1,000 of California’s 200,000 California attorneys are board-certified in Family Law. Lindsey A. The fee for our 30-minute phone or Zoom consultation is $150. The fee for our in-person 1-hour consultation with Lindsey is $425. Please note, payment is due upfront and is nonrefundable.

Every case and client is unique. Unlike some attorneys, we do not have a set schedule for retainers. During the consultation, our attorney will be better able to estimate the actual cost of representation. Our office recognizes that many families are struggling to make ends meet, therefore we do not overcharge our clients.
Yes. California allows attorneys to represent individuals on a “limited scope basis.” This provides clients with the opportunity to retain the services of an attorney on a limited basis, such as representing a client at one hearing, or on one particular issue. Securing the services of an attorney on a limited scope basis reduces fees and ensures that proper legal representation is available to all individuals.
Mediation is often referred to as facilitated settlement negotiations. By participating in private mediation, parties are able to resolve conflict with the assistance of a mediator who acts as a neutral individual, free from judgment. Often participants in mediation remark that they are pleased with the outcome and that the ability to resolve conflict has provided them the ability to continue relationships as co-parents in a healthy manner. Our attorney/mediator, Lindsey A. Bannerman, can assist you in mediation at any stage in a Family Law matter.
